Who we are

This policy explains how Blur AI (“we”, “us”) handles personal data when you use our website and app. We are the controller of that data. Company details: [Registered company name and postal address]. For any privacy question or request, email blur.ai.video@gmail.com.

What we collect

Things you give us

  • Account details: your name, email address and password (stored only as a secure hash), or your basic Google or Apple profile if you sign in with them. Team members you invite: their email address.
  • Your videos: the files you upload, the YouTube links you paste, and what we make from them: transcripts, the edit plan, the edited video and clips, captions and your Edit with AI messages.
  • Brand kit: your logo, colours, fonts and caption and outro settings.
  • Messages: what you send us when you contact support.

Things we collect when you connect an account

Things collected automatically

  • Usage (only if you allow analytics): pages you view, how long each one is open and in use, the buttons and links you click (their label, never what you type), errors the app runs into, and steps such as uploading a video, recorded by our own first-party analytics. It goes to our servers only, never to an analytics or advertising company.
  • Service records: what you do with your account that Blur AI needs to keep, like starting an edit, opening a checkout, paying or posting a clip. These are kept whatever your cookie choice, because they are part of providing the service.
  • Where you came from: on your first visit, the referral or affiliate code, campaign (utm) tags, referring website and landing page, so we can credit referrals.
  • Technical data: browser, operating system and device type, screen and window size, language and time zone, the country and region your connection comes from, and the logs we need to keep the service secure and working (these include your IP address; our usage analytics keep only a one-way hash of it that changes every day, to stop abuse).
  • Billing records: your plan, payment status, invoices and credit history. Whop handles card details.

How we use it

  • To run Blur AI: store your videos, make your edits and clips, and post the ones you schedule (to perform our contract with you).
  • To take payments, manage credits and send receipts (contract, and legal obligations such as tax records).
  • To send account emails, like sign-in links and “your edit is ready”, and occasional product news you can unsubscribe from (contract and legitimate interests, or consent where the law requires it).
  • To keep Blur AI secure, prevent abuse such as free-credit farming, and fix problems (legitimate interests).
  • To understand how people use Blur AI and improve it, using first-party analytics only, if you allow it (consent; you can withdraw it any time in Cookie settings).
  • To credit referrals and affiliates for sign-ups they bring (legitimate interests).

We do not sell your personal data, we do not share it for advertising, and we do not use your videos to train AI models.

How AI processes your videos

To edit a video, we send its transcript, still frames and related details to Anthropic’s Claude model through Claude Platform on AWS, a service Anthropic operates for us. Claude suggests the moments to keep and the edit plan; our own software then renders the video.

Anthropic processes this content as our service provider. Under Anthropic’s commercial terms, content sent through its API is not used to train its models. We use it only to make your edit.

Who we share it with

We use these service providers to run Blur AI. They process data on our instructions and only for the purposes below.

ProviderWhat they do for us
Amazon Web ServicesStores uploaded videos and finished clips (Amazon S3) and runs our editing engine.
AnthropicRuns the Claude AI model that suggests moments and edit plans (Claude Platform on AWS, operated by Anthropic and billed through AWS).
SupabaseHosts your account, sign-in, project data and some stored files.
VercelHosts the Blur AI website and app.
WhopTakes payments and manages subscriptions. Card details go to Whop, not to us.
ResendSends account and product emails, like sign-in links and “your edit is ready”.
Google and AppleOnly if you choose to sign in with them.
Social platforms you connectYouTube (Google), TikTok, Instagram (Meta), LinkedIn or X, only the ones you connect: they receive the clips you post or schedule to them, and we read the account details listed below.

We may also share data if the law requires it, to protect people’s safety or our rights, or as part of a merger or sale of our business, in which case this policy keeps applying to your data.

YouTube and connected accounts

Connecting a social account is optional. When you connect one, we store its OAuth tokens encrypted (AES-256), with the key kept separately from the database. We use them only to read your channel or profile details and to publish the clips you schedule, when you schedule them. We never post anything you did not schedule.

YouTube (Google API Services)

Blur AI uses YouTube API Services. When you connect YouTube we ask for two permissions: to read your channel, which we use to show your channel name, photo and videos so you can pick one to edit; and to upload videos, which we use only to post the clips you choose to post or schedule, with the title, description and visibility you set. We never delete or change your existing videos. Blur AI’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. In particular, we:

  • use YouTube data only to provide the features you see in Blur AI;
  • do not sell it, use it for advertising, or use it to train AI models;
  • do not let people read it, except with your permission, for security or abuse investigations, or when the law requires.

By connecting YouTube you agree to the YouTube Terms of Service, and Google’s handling of your data is described in the Google Privacy Policy. You can disconnect in Blur AI Settings, or remove our access at any time on your Google account permissions page. When you disconnect, we delete the tokens straight away and the stored channel details within 30 days.

TikTok, Instagram, LinkedIn and X

For these platforms we ask only for the permissions needed to read your basic profile and to publish your scheduled clips. Your use of them is also covered by their own policies, including TikTok’s Privacy Policy and Meta’s Privacy Policy and Platform Terms. Disconnecting in Settings deletes the tokens; you can also revoke access in each platform’s own app settings.

Cookies and similar storage

We use only first-party cookies and browser storage: nothing from advertising or analytics companies. On your first visit we ask which optional ones you allow. Strictly necessary ones are always on, because Blur AI can’t work without them. You can change your choice at any time with Cookie settings (also in the site footer and in Settings).

Checkout: when you pay, Whop’s checkout runs in a window on our page and may set its own strictly necessary cookies for the payment (Whop's privacy policy).

Without analytics consent we don’t record which pages you view, how long you stay, or what you click. We still keep the records Blur AI needs to provide your account: for example that you started an edit, opened a checkout or paid, so credits, receipts and support work. These are part of the service, not analytics.

You can also delete cookies in your browser at any time; you will then need to sign in again.

How long we keep data

  • Videos and clips: on the Free plan, 30 days after they are made; on paid plans, while your subscription is active. If a paid plan ends, the 30-day period starts on the day it ends.
  • Account data: while your account is open. When you delete your account, we delete your data from our live systems within 30 days; copies in backups are removed as the backups expire.
  • Billing records: as long as tax and accounting law requires, even after you delete your account.
  • Attribution cookies: 30 days (where you came from) and 1 year (visitor ID).
  • Your cookie choice: while your account exists, or 13 months if you made it while signed out.
  • Usage analytics: visits and page views for 180 days; clicks and error reports for 60 days. Deleting your account deletes the ones linked to it.

How we protect it

Data is encrypted in transit, social account tokens are encrypted at rest, and each account can only reach its own projects through database access rules. Only people who need access to run Blur AI have it. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects your data, we will tell you as the law requires.

Your choices and rights

  • Export your data from Settings (Request export), or ask us at blur.ai.video@gmail.com.
  • Correct your profile in Settings.
  • Disconnect any social account in Settings, at any time.
  • Delete your account and its data from Settings (Delete account).
  • Unsubscribe from product emails with the link in any email. Account emails, like receipts, still arrive.

Depending on where you live (for example the EU, UK or California), you may also have the right to access, restrict or object to our use of your data, and to complain to your data protection authority. Email blur.ai.video@gmail.com and we will answer within 30 days. We will not treat you differently for using these rights.

Where your data is stored

Our providers store and process data mainly in the United States. When data leaves the EU, UK or another country with transfer rules, we rely on safeguards such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses.

Children

Blur AI is not for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child under 13 has given us personal data, email blur.ai.video@gmail.com and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We will update this policy when what we do with data changes. The date at the top shows the latest version. If a change materially affects you, we will tell you by email or in the app before it applies. The Terms of Service explain how changes to the terms work.
